Collaborative Gaps

What is a Collaborative Gap Session?

Collaborative Gaps represent gaps in Christianity where the church is struggling. Leaders across Eurasia have identified areas where we have ministry gaps in the church on our region.

Each collaborative session will address one gap in a two-hour period over the three days of the conference. Your conversation will be focused by a driving question that you, as a table team, will address over the three days. The result will be recommended strategies for each attendee to consider in their local setting in addressing the specific gap.

You will be asked to select your top three gaps. You will be assigned to one of the gaps.

Collaborative Gap Sessions will be held in the mornings follow plenary sessions.

  1. Engaging the Next Generation: Explore how to connect with and inspire younger generations, fostering their faith, leadership, and involvement in the mission of the Church. We’ll discuss practical approaches for creating spaces where youth can encounter Christ and thrive in their spiritual journeys.
  2. Developing Leaders of Christian Character: Integrity and Anti-corruption: Discuss the urgent need to nurture leaders whose lives and ministries reflect integrity, ethical decision-making, and resistance to corruption in all forms. This session will focus on cultivating transparent leadership that earns trust and influences communities for Christ.
  3. How to do Church and Discipleship in a Digital Age: Navigate the challenges and opportunities of ministry in a digital world, leveraging technology to foster authentic community and meaningful discipleship. We’ll explore how to balance virtual engagement with face-to-face relationships for deeper spiritual formation.
  4. People on the Move: Caring for Immigrants and Refugees: Learn how to respond compassionately and effectively to the growing needs of migrants, refugees, and displaced people in our communities and beyond. This session will cover practical ministry strategies and ways to advocate for those seeking refuge and belonging.
  5. Caring for Creation and the Vulnerable: Discover ways to be stewards of God’s creation and advocates for the vulnerable, addressing environmental and social justice concerns from a Kingdom perspective. Together, we’ll consider the Church’s role in promoting sustainability and compassion for those most affected by global crises.
  6. Secularism: Examine the rise of secularism and its impact on faith, exploring strategies to engage a culture that is increasingly disconnected from religious values. We’ll identify creative approaches for fostering meaningful conversations and sharing the Gospel in secular contexts.

Ministry Workshops

On Thursday afternoon, ministry workshops will be held.

You will select a one workshop.

Workshop times 14:30 – 16:00    (6 workshops)

Workshop descriptions to be announced later.

What is the difference in a Collaborative Gap Session and a workshop?

In a Collaborative Gap Session, your table team will be working through steps to move the church forward in the identified gap.

Workshop will be a more traditional format where key information or training will be offered to help you progress in your area of ministry.
